Frequently asked questions

Why does my scanned PDF open sideways?
Scanners and phone cameras record the page as it was fed or held, and write an orientation flag that not every viewer honours. Rotating and re-saving bakes the correct orientation into the file so every viewer agrees.
Can I rotate just one page instead of all of them?
Yes — each page has its own control, which is what you need for a document where one landscape table sits among portrait pages.
Is the rotation permanent?
In the exported file, yes. Unlike pressing rotate in a viewer — which often only changes your own view — the saved PDF carries the new orientation for everyone who opens it.
Does rotating re-compress the page?
No. Rotation changes a page attribute and leaves the content stream alone, so file size and image quality are unchanged.
